How I started Drawing

I have been drawing since I was small, and old enough to hold a pen. I drew faces, on anything, over and over again, only now I draw Angels.
One day I was sitting at my desk, after having visited a crystal shop, and my hand just drew an Angel. I didn't, my hand did!! I did it every time I picked up a writing implement, I drew an Angel. My sketchbooks soon filled up with Angel after Angel. That's when I knew something was going on! I have been able to converse with Angelic Energy (the only description I can find for what I experience) for some time before this all started happening - (think around 20 years previous.) So to progress to drawing them seems kind of natural and normal to me.
I am interested in Mixed Media art, and do that, too. Normally on canvas.
My main focus is faces, and my influences are Modigliani and Van Gogh. Modigliani because I find his stylised faces haunting and relaxing. Van Gogh showed us life can be seen differently through different eyes, also because the was a thinker, a painter who always tried to improve upon the last thing he did.
I am also influenced by the artwork of Johnny Depp. His simple lines, humour and self examination through art are through provoking and often powerful.
You will note, that these painters are not professional painters, Modigliani only sold around 12 paintings during his lifetime. Van Gogh sold one, which now seems almost unbelievable. Johnny Depp paints as a sideline to his acting, directing and member of the Hollywood Vampires, so you could say that he isn't a professional painter, as in, he doesn't do it for a living. However, his paintings sell out in minutes, and he is successful in this area along with all the other things he does.
